Finally Free by Daniel Romano

Daniel Romano is one of my favorite musicians of all time. He’s from Welland, Ontario, but his sound is universal musical truth. This is a man of masks(Prism faces a plenty). He wears a different face on every album.

I discovered him in 2020 with the release How Ill Thy World Is Ordered. This classic rock-sounding album might leave you thinking Romano is right down classic rock home plate, but you would be dead wrong. His first release, Workin’ for the Music Man, is a country album! His first four outings were all country releases, but by 2016, his next album, Mosey took on a new form, imitating the styles of Bob Dylan circa Blonde on Blonde. 2017's Modern Pressure built on the Dylan theme but also brought the Beatles into the mix. There's a track or two where the discerned listener can nerd out on the clever sonic mimicry.

2018’s Finally Free is a mystical voyage through celestial ancestral wisdom that leaves the listener THINKING, and that’s what good music should do. Make you think. Daniel Romano is a poetic master; his words will take you on journeys through time, space, and your own human mind (& YOUR UGLY HUMAN HEART). Take a listen and let’s head to the edge of the cosmos!
